It's Time to Change the Game

Commemorated by the launch of our new website and logo, we have moved into a new era of our work where we are committed to an even more full engagement with people to change the dream of the modern world.

A new era where we are continuing to focus on waking people up through our Awakening the Dreamer Symposium, but where we are more focused on putting them on a pathway to fully stay awake and become more connected with like-minded people.

With current threats to the Amazon—one of the most bio-diverse regions on Earth—more rampant than ever before, we are also deepening our commitment to our indigenous partners to protect their land and culture while bringing forth a new worldview that honors and sustains life.

We now realize that in order to change the dream of the modern world that we must reach people faster and more fully embrace the tools and techniques of the modern world to create this change. It has also become clear to us that we not only need to change the dream, but that we need to change the game.

“We want to take the work we’ve done and take it to the next evolution. We have to transform the human family from a destructive force to a mutually enhancing force. It has come to us that changing the dream is not enough. We created this pathway and are changing the rules of the game that will shift the whole.”

The following are some of the ways in which we are creating this change:

New Website and Logo

In August 2014, we launched a new website and logo to be more effectively equipped to respond to the increasing needs of connectivity and engagement in the modern world.

The Up to Us Engagement Pathway

At the end of last year we introduced the Up to Us engagement pathway pathway designed to wake people to the critical issues we are facing today, pierce through the apathy and resignation blocking effective action, inspire a new vision for the world, and engage people in innovative game changing solutions.

The Awakening the Dreamer Symposium

Since 2005, we have trained more than 4,500 volunteer facilitators who have delivered Awakening the Dreamer Symposiums in 81 countries worldwide, with more than 200,000 participants in 13 languages. In just a few days, we will be releasing a new, updated, version of our Symposium.

The Game Changer Intensive

Since introducing the Up to Us pathway, we have piloted the Game Changer Intensive, a seven-week online course that aims to educate, inspire, and equip you to be a pro-activist leader, a game changer in your community—picking up where the Symposium leaves off.

850 people have taken the Game Changer Intensive and we currently have more than 300 people enrolled for our next course starting this month. We have received rave reviews from participants, including:

"So much of what this course has offered is the feeling of not being alone in the struggle and in the philosophy of oneness with Mother Earth. It's the community feeling, even across the Internet."

"Before the Intensive, I harbored a secret despair that we would not have the wisdom to find our way out of this mess. I no longer feel this way. I now believe we do have a future– unpredictable, perhaps, but ultimately just, sustainable, and fulfilling."

Communities

We are developing new resources for individuals to find communities of like-minded people on the Up to Us engagement pathway. Communities help others stay awake and connected as they continue learning and engaging in collective action on meaningful issues for our times.

Working with Movement Partners

Our work has also expanded to include inviting people to join movements as a way to engage in the world—drawing our attention to getting to the root of changing the dream. We have partnered with organizations in the United States that are focusing on many of these core issues: Move to Amend, Citizens’ Climate Lobby, and Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund. Our partners include:

  • Move to Amend is working to ensure our constitution and federal elections work for The People, rather than moneyed special interests.
  • Citizens’ Climate Lobby is working to put a price on carbon and address the most urgent environmental issue of our time.
  • Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund is building sustainable communities by assisting people to assert their right to local self-government and the rights of nature.

We hope that you will join us in this next era of our work as we continue to develop programs and deepen our commitment to creating a sustainable future that works for all. We welcome you to learn, connect, engage, travel, and cherish life by participating in our programs.

“The crisis is deepening in the Amazon region with the insatiable demand for oil from the modern world, forcing more pressure and destruction on the region, and demanding action. The times we are living in now require a regenerative stepping up with everyone working to shift the trajectory of the human family.”
